Patrol

The Patrol Division is under the direction of Captain Dustin Ivey who reports to the Chief of Police. There are four shifts in the Patrol Division, each working three or four twelve hour shifts per two week pay period. Each shift is individually commanded by a Lieutenant and seconded by a Shift Sergeant and either has two or three Patrol Officers.

These Patrol Officers are the most familiar to the general public because they are responsible for the 24 hour-a-day task of responding to calls for service, preventing criminal activity, conducting preliminary criminal investigations, apprehending criminals, traffic enforcement, accident investigation and community interaction. The Patrol Division also has 2 K9 Officers who work rotating schedules to cover call out and all high-volume periods.
